Meet the OFPA’s Coordinators

OFPA’s Coordinators

Foster Parent Coordinators play a vital role in providing support to Caregivers who maintain a Family Care Agreement with the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) in the regions of the Okanagan, Similkameen, and Shuswap.

OFPA Coordinators are committed to supporting Caregivers in a wide range of ways by building relationships, providing education and information while responding to the evolving needs of Foster Families with children in their care. They have in depth knowledge of MCFD policies, trauma informed parenting practices, complex behaviours specific to children in care, community resources, and so much more. OFPA Coordinators continually maintain their education and work collaboratively with MCFD in order to provide Foster Caregivers with relevant support. Your OFPA Coordinator is skilled in supporting Caregivers through challenging foster care situations along with having specific training in supporting Caregivers involved in MCFD protocols with a strong commitment to confidentiality.
