Youth Advisory Council ~ Applicants Wanted

Updated: May 4, 2021

The Ministry of Children and Family Development formed the Provincial Director of Child Welfare’s Youth Advisory Council (YAC) in September 2015 to have the insights of current or former youth in care between the ages of 17 and 29 help inform the work of the Ministry. These 18-24 council members are from across British Columbia, and each brings a unique perspective, background, and philosophy to their role on the council. Council members provide consultation and advice on a range of Ministry policies, practices, and training. During the COVID-19 pandemic, YAC has shifted to be a completely virtual team, and we conduct all our meetings and consultations online.

The beginning of our 2021-2022 YAC term is approaching, and it is once again time to seek new members to join the council. Please spread the word about the Youth Advisory Council and refer any youth you know who may be interested in the information about how to apply.

For more information, please visit the YAC Web site.

The deadline to apply is Wednesday, March 31, 2021
