As of April 1, 2021, foster parents will be enrolled in the Caregivers Group Liability Program (CGLP). This will replace the Master Insurance Program (MIP) that is currently in place. The MCFD and DAA Resource Teams will be sending the attachments out to all foster caregivers. The new insurance plan provides some enhancements to the current program – the CGLP will now cover all adult residents in the home.
A website is currently being developed to deliver liability insurance certificates to foster parents on behalf of the Province of British Columbia and paid for by the Province of British Columbia. It will launch mid-March with an insurance package emailed to you with a website address to access program information, FAQs, and claim reporting information. Your actual certificate of insurance will be emailed to you once the website is completed later this month. Click below to read the FAQs.
